No one has time for flu, so don’t let it stop your students! The best way to fight the flu is to get a yearly flu vaccine. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against flu viruses. Get a vaccine now so you have immunity before the upcoming breaks!

WHY GET VACCINATED?
Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others. An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the chances that you will get seasonal flu and spread it to others. When more people get vaccinated against the flu, less flu can spread through the community.

Getting a flu vaccine is even more important this year. While last year’s flu season was mild, The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases has expressed concerns that this year’s flu season may be severe.

VACCINES AT REDFERN
The seasonal flu vaccine is offered at Redfern Health Center. Students can schedule an appointment online in MyHealth-e or call the pharmacy: 864-656-3562. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check, debit, credit, Apple Pay, HSA and Tiger Stripe. Students can also pay for your flu vaccine online in MyHealth-e. Students with the Clemson University Student Health Insurance Plan, the vaccine is covered 100% when received at Redfern or through any Preferred Provider.
