Clemson offers a Student Health Insurance Plan to all students through Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. The plan includes medical, vision and dental coverage and can be used anywhere in the United States.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:
For undergraduate students, this coverage is voluntary which means you can purchase the insurance coverage if you decide it is needed. Please note that health insurance is not required for undergraduate students. If you would like to purchase this plan for your student, enroll directly on the Clemson Academic Health Plans website.
GRADUATE AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
For graduate and international students, health insurance is required and the plan coverage is mandatory for students in the following categories:
- Graduate students enrolled in nine or more credit hours in an on-campus or blended delivery degree program
- Graduate students classified as graduate assistants at all campus locations
- All F-1 or F-2 international students
Students who are mandatory will have the student insurance charge on their tuition bill and will need to enroll or waive the insurance plan on the Clemson Academic Health Plans website.
OPEN ENROLLMENT DATES:

- Spring/Summer: Nov. 25, 2025 through Jan. 30, 2026
