The Virtual Orientation modules, as well as your student's academic adviser, will help your student prepare for course registration. Please read the following information about course registration that students have received:
Course registration will take place virtually. Academic advisers, as well as CSLE Staff and orientation ambassadors, will be available via Zoom for assistance. Course registration takes place the weeks of June 16th and July 14th. When you finish your academic advising appointment, they will receive a link in their Clemson email to sign up for a course registration time block. Please make yourself available at the begging of your time block, and students can expect about an hour and a half to register for Fall courses. The June time blocks will open first; July will open when June is full
Advisors can have high numbers of students to advise so they do prioritize advising appointments based on course registration dates in order to ensure a high-quality advising experience for each student. Please encourage your student to have patience throughout this process; advisors are working hard to ensure they are all set by the time the semester starts!
At Clemson, all students register for courses through iRoar for the upcoming academic term. In addition to registering for courses, students can also use iRoar to plan ahead and monitor progress towards their degree. We also invite you to explore the University’s academic advising website to learn about the advising process and the responsibilities of both the student and academic advisor. The website also provides a central location to view specific advising resources and specific College advising information.
Each semester every student is given a specific time ticket to register for courses. Time tickets are distributed based on earned hours plus currently enrolled hours. You can find an example chart of time tickets HERE.
Course registration for new students occurs over the summer as a part of the Virtual Orientation program. New students selected their course registration date (their time ticket) as a part of signing up for Orientation. During this time frame, students can log-in to iRoar and register for their courses. Through the academic advising process, which happens before course registration, students will receive a registration pin from their academic advisor and course options to select in iRoar during their registration time. Academic advisors and registration coordinators will be available to assist students during course registration if there are any issues that arise.
As new students begin academic advising and course registration in the coming weeks, we invite you to check out the following iRoar student tutorials to learn more about the features of iRoar:
